Dear Life Scout,
Please use ALL the links on the left. They contain documentation for all the information you should need to work toward your Eagle Scout rank. The READ ME FIRST document gives a brief description of each of the other documents provided to help you complete the requirements for your Eagle badge. The Eagle Board of Review is a link to the Eagle Board of Review section on the eaglescout.org website. It contains valuable insight to what you can expect from your Eagle Board of Review.
Congratulations on achieving the Life Scout rank. You are only just a few steps away from obtaining the highest honor a young man can attain in Scouting. The rank of Eagle.
The Eagle Scout badge is the highest award that can be received as a youth member of the Boy Scouts. It represents the successful completion of a long process that began when you became a Scout. Advancing to the rank of Eagle requires participation, positions of responsibility, Scout spirit and merit badges. There is also an increased requirement of service. This responsibility does not allow you to simply participate in service projects. You must now plan, develop and execute your own project.
Remember that you are not alone for these final steps. Your entire unit is there for you. By now you are one of the young men leading your Troop. Use those leadership skills to accomplish your goal. Solicit the help of your Troop and its adult leaders to determine a suitable Service Project. Obtain the assistance of the other Scouts of the Troop to complete the project. This will also display your leadership skills by developing a project that includes the younger Scouts. This helps them earn credit since they must also participate in service projects for their rank advancement.
This Packet contains information to assist you in your journey from Life to Eagle. Included in this packet is a list of steps to help you successfully become an Eagle Scout. The Adult members of Troop 774 and other Eagle Scouts are just a few resources available to help you reach your goal.
Once you have become an Eagle Scout, you will be one of only just a few to reach this summit. One President, seventeen Senators and over sixty Congressmen are Eagles. Eleven State Governors and fourteen senior military officers are Eagles. Forty Astronauts are Eagle Scouts including two who have walked on the moon. Over Seventeen hundred heads of corporations are Eagle Scouts.
A special ceremony will be needed to celebrate your accomplishment. This kit also contains information to help plan and prepare a memorable celebration commemorating your hard work.
Sincerely,
Craig Hutcheson
