Troop 774 is proud to have one of the highest number of Wood Badge trained leaders in the Chattahoochee District.

Wood Badge has evolved into the core leadership skills training course for the BSA. The new Wood Badge course focuses on strengthening every volunteer's ability to work with and lead groups of youth and adults and is less focused on outdoor skills, which are more effectively addressed in other courses.
Wood Badge is offered annually by the Council Training Staff and consists of two 3 day weekends from Friday AM to Sunday PM. Information and applications for the class are available in the Training section on the NEGA Council website. Download the Registration Form, or you can pick up the form from either Service Center. It is the goal of the BSA to have all Adult Leaders take the Wood Badge course by the second year of service.
The prerequisites for Wood Badge are that you have completed New Leader Essentials and the Position Specific Training for which you are registered. For veteran leaders, if you were trained under the old curriculums, you are still considered trained and may register for the new Wood Badge. New leaders must complete the current position curriculum prior to attending the course.
